Supply Nation provides Australia’s leading database of verified Indigenous businesses

Problem

Supply Nation sought to increase corporate and government spending with the 4,500 Australian Indigenous certified businesses and enhance supplier diversity across the nation. However, initial adoption of the platform was low, with only 60% of organisations uploading their spend data. This limited visibility into corporate and government spending with Indigenous businesses and hindered efforts to promote greater economic inclusion.

Solution

To address this challenge, we partnered with the Supply Nation team to streamline the process for corporates by building a lightweight application on top of Supply Nation's Salesforce instance. This solution enabled bi-directional data transfers, simplifying the way ASX 100 companies and other organisations reported their Indigenous spend. The application allows users to track progress over time, benchmark their performance against industry peers, and streamline their Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) reporting. Additionally, we developed SupplyStream, an API that connects member procurement and purchasing systems directly to the Supply Nation database in real time, making it easier to procure goods and services from Indigenous businesses across various categories.

Results

Today, Supply Nation has over 750 paid corporate, government, and not-for-profit members across every state and territory, with the reporting rate double what it is amongst its global counterparts. This success has increased spending with Indigenous businesses, contributed to building a more inclusive Australian economy and allows for timely trend analysis on how events like Covid19 are impacting us economically.
